1943

Establishment of the School of Nursing Administration for Military Nursing Services. Study group work on proposal for university education in nursing in India (Bhore Committee Report)

 

1946

Establishment of the College of Nursing under the Ministry of Health and to start first Degree programme in Nursing in India under University of Delhi

 

1950

Establishment of rural field teaching centre for teaching of community health in the rural area at chhawla village, 30 km northwest of Delhi in collaboration with Primary   Health Centre, Najaf garh.

 

1952

Development of Mobile Health Clinic Services for strengthening rural field Teaching centres.

 

1955

Establishment of Child Guidance Clinic for providing services and strengthening pediatric and  Public Health Nursing training programme

 

1959

Initiation  of two years Master of Nursing Programme under University of Delhi

 

1968  

Introduction of elective courses in community and clinical nursing specialties in Postgraduate Programmes

 

1973

College shifted  from 12 Jaswant Singh road New Delhi to new building at Adrewsganj New Delhi.

 

1974

Establishment of Department of Continuing Education in Nursing.   College Renamed as Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing

 

1976

Establishment of Nursing Research Unit.

 

1979

Implementation of Revised B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing Curriculum (10+2+3 pattern)  and introduction of internship.

 

1980

Implementation of Revised Master of Nursing Curriculum.

 

1981

Implementation of Revised Post  certificate Diploma in Nursing Education and Nursing Administration.

 

1982

College participates in Health Care Management ASID’ 82

 

1986  

M.Phil in Nursing Programmes (University of Delhi) started

 

1988

College was designated as World Health Collaborating centre for nursing development.

 

1992

Doctoral Programme in Nursing – Department of Nursing, University of Delhi.

 

1995

College was actively involved with National Pulse Polio programme & perfect Health Mela.

 

1996  

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) designated the College as study Centre Unit.

 

2002

Chhawla made TMP (Team Movement Point) for National pulse polio Programmes

 

2005

CGC (Child Guidance Centre) completed its 50 yrs (Golden Jubilee of Existence)

 

2006

College was Designated as programme study centre for offering PHD programme  by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

 

2008

College act as sub recipient for Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM)Project.

 

2010

College constituted anti tobacco squad Delhi University free project
